Good Life Physical Therapy

We at Good Life Physical Therapy do our best to employ not only quality patient care, but the best and newest programs, procedures, and equipment. Here are some of the many unique programs and techniques that you may benefit from during your time with us at Good Life Physical Therapy.

Active Release Technique (ART)

ART is a soft tissue technique that involves the release of muscles, tendons, fascia, and the freeing of nerves that often become entrapped. It is a unique procedure that seeks to correct overuse injuries that often contribute to a number of physical disfunctions. ART treatment can be tailored to the individual with over 500 protocols and has gained its reputation by being the preferred treatment by Ironman® and professional athletes worldwide.

ASTYM

Astym® treatment is a therapy that regenerates healthy soft tissues (muscles, tendons, etc.), and eliminates or reduces unwanted scar tissue that may be causing pain or movement restrictions. Astym® treatment is highly effective and even works when other approaches routinely fail. One of the main reasons Astym® treatment is so much more effective than other treatments is that it was scientifically developed to resolve the underlying cause of soft tissue problems, rather than just trying to temporarily relieve symptoms. It is one of the most researched and effective therapy treatments available.

Gait Analysis

Gait analysis is an important aspect of our daily lives because our pain is often times reproduced by movement. If walking or running, causes pain or discomfort, these movement patterns will be altered as we compensate or try to move without pain. Walking and running can be broken down into an analytical process in which we can evaluate joint movement, muscle activation, and movement efficiency as you walk or run.

Vestibular Rehabilitation

Dizziness doesn’t affect everyone, but when it does, it has a tendency to take over your life. It affects your ability to work, participate socially, and go about your everyday activities. Vestibular rehabilitation involves a number of different treatment protocols depending on one’s underlying condition. While this section mentions a few, a formal evaluation will be completed to be sure that we can help in the best way possible.

Pediatric Therapy

Simply put, pediatric therapy is therapy for children. There are a number of reasons why children seek physical therapy, but they often result in the same goal: helping kids be kids. Children are supposed to run on the playground, stack play blocks, roll in the mud, jump on trampolines, and throw balls with their siblings. Sometimes, there can be an incident, developmental delay, or another reason in which parents find that their kids aren't doing these things. Good Life Therapy is here to help!

Trigger Point Dry Needling

Trigger Point Dry Needling (TDN) is similar to Chinese acupuncture because it uses filament needles. However, it is distinct from acupuncture because it is based on Western medicine rather than being used as a holistic remedy. Modern TDN treats along the musculoskeletal and nervous system to locate and treat physical trigger points. The best part about TDN is it directly goes to the source, inside the muscle. It is one of the most effective physical therapy treatments and Good Life Therapy is certified in this unique specialty!
