Dr. Dave Asselin joined the staff at Good Life Physical Therapy in July 2021. He is a Grand Rapids native and graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelors of Arts in Accounting. He went on to work as a CPA in Grand Rapids and in Denver at BDO Seidman before realizing accounting was not his calling. He joined the Peace Corps and spent 2 years in Tonga as a youth volunteer. After returning home from the Peace Corps, he volunteered at a hospital and found Physical Therapy.

Not surprisingly, the accounting degree did not transfer to the science world and he took 2 years of pre-requisites before being accepted to GVSU’s first Doctorate of Physical Therapy program. He graduated in 2007 and started working at a local clinic that focused on manual therapy. After a year, he found heteronymous stretch reflexes and developed his own treatment approach as well as view of how the body works. He started PT 360 Physical Therapy where he worked with the professionals from the Grand Rapids Ballet for over 8 years. He has also worked with Olympic and professional athletes due to his different approach to Physical Therapy and the results that are achieved. Dave was an All-American in High School and was All Big Ten for 4 years at Michigan State in Water Polo. His athletic background allows him to understand the athletes psyche and importance of activity. Dr. Asselin works with a wide range of individuals and his unique treatment approach works for everyone. In addition to tradition Physical Therapy approaches, Dave has recently been exploring alternative healing and is a L2 Reiki Practitioner.

In his free time, Dave enjoys swimming and cycling, and working with the Michigan State University Men’s and Women’s Club Crew Team.
